So people are asking what is happening with MicroCash, especially in regards to me. There are 2 problems I ran into in late May.
1) Needing to make some money
2) Lack of motivation
In regards to money, I've been working in a near full time capacity on SolidCoin since late July 2011. For free. It's even cost me a decent amount of money to be involved with SolidCoin to this stage but I don't mind that. However I do have a family, a wife, and they do expect me to make money for them to keep them alive. Working for free doesn't provide much of that. I know people think I can spend the CPF or my own SC funds but I'm against this in principle. I don't like the idea of dumping SC when the market is so small. I know people think "one day" SolidCoin/MicroCash will be worth a lot but it's hard to sell that to a wife as I'm sure some of you may be aware!
In regards to motivation it could be due to my own internal pressures I was receiving from the family in regards to #1 , but it's also just the fact I had written a lot of code of MicroCash for 2 months straight, combined with a few other factors that perhaps got me a little burnt out. I feel like my motivation is returning though after some weeks off, as in it's becoming something I want to work on again due to the fun but free time isn't easy to come by these days.
Anyway, the BETA isn't _that_ far from being ready. Maybe a week or two of some hard coding. So here is where we are at.
I'll be willing to complete the beta as quickly as possible if people want to donate some BTC to me, this way I can show the wife it's more like a job than a hobby. As to the amount, I think 250BTC would be enough to get her off my back for the time required to finish the beta whilst simultaneously giving me more motivation (as people have paid me to work in essence).
If people don't want to do that, that is fine, I will code on the beta myself as I find the free time, as the other developers may too. The ETA of which is hopefully before the end of this year. There is too much new and exciting code in MicroCash for me to give up on it completely so that will never happen.

I am willing to sell 20K SC for 200BTC to pay RealSolid to finish the work on the MicroCash beta and release it to the public. If need be I am willing to break up the 20K SC
into smaller orders as long as the total BTC is 200BTC.
Lets get this done!
*edited post to reflect current BTC donations received.
** Sold 17K SC to Schwede65 for 139BTC. All 139BTC were sent directly to RealSolid's BTC wallet and All 17K SC were sent directly to Schwede65.
Both transactions were openly posted in the #microcash irc channel and have been 100% confirmed **
*** I personally sent 25BTC immediately following the 139BTC Schwede65 sent bringing the btc wallet total up to 225BTC***
ONLY 25BTC LEFT PEOPLE !!! LETS GET IT DONE !!!

Well, it's my understanding that you (realsolid) don't live in the US but I've been wanting to find someone willing to trade me some SLC for USD. If you are up for that, send me how many slc you are willing to sell for, say... $150 and I may make a deal.
I'm out of crypto currency on all fronts and I need to build up my stash again. PM me if you want to work something out.

It would probably be best if we work out whether there is going to be enough first before people start donating.

I am ready to donate 10 btc, but I don't have any. And it's getting difficult for me to transfer money to exchanges. Is there any way for me to transfer money?
On the side note, I do think that this whole project should be a hobby for now. There are competitions around so even if coding is done fine, there is still a chance that SC goes nowhere. So I would not invest all my time into SC simply for that reason. It's like investing into only one stock. Companies may deteriorate quickly for an unpredictable reasons. Same here. SC is a promising "stock".
Having said that, I do think that RS deserves donations from our side and I do think that the sooner the beta is out, the better.

foxit, If you are the investor, then yes. If you are the creator and leader, then you need to be devoted.

RS, why don't you give members of the forum the opportunity to buy some coins from you ?

1) No one will buy at higher than market price.
2) RS "I don't like the idea of dumping SC when the market is so small" (and price too)
So if we wanna financially support RS as lead project developer - the funds must go from outside sources,
i.e. personal donations in BTC (for easier and anonymous way to convert them to AUD)

As one of alternatives to (crowd)fund development heard about kickstarter.com service quite a lot recently. One example of software project is Wasteland 2 - successfully raised almost 3M$ (3x times more than they needed originally) - details http://www.kickstart...ile/wasteland-2 .

I think no one will be against if RS takes officially from SPF about 20 000 SC for his work. Why not?

I offer initial donation of 5 BTC, and then 10 percent match to any donation up to total of 250 BTC. How's that?

Sure these are good words, but kids want to eat and wifes too. There has to be a source of income. SC cuurently can't be one.

The CPF wallet would need some tweaking to be able to spend funds due to a glitch around block 98000 when one of the changes went in. At least I believe this to be true as I made note of it around the time I implemented a change to the currency creation. This being said I don't think it's healthy to use that at this stage. It opens up too many questions I think if any of the CPF funds are used before MicroCash is released. It also would require more than just one person on a forum saying it should be used in that way before it can happen. It's also possible the CPF funds will be removed for MicroCash so it's not really something we should dive into.

Yeah I heard about that site recently too. It's for "creative projects" though, not sure if MicroCash would fall under it.

Well I am devoted it's just a question of time. I have other products I have neglected in the past year that would make me money. Updates, support, all the stuff that I've been doing with SC that I could have been doing with things that make me money. SC was really a small distraction at the time that turned into something much much bigger than I ever anticipated so yeah, I've been neglecting other areas of my life for too long, this post is here to remedy the situation of people wanting the beta done in a quick fashion. People that ask me "when is MC going to be released" well now they know why it isn't and they have a way to get it done in a quick fashion if they choose. It gives people options. I'm not rich, but I have managed to live off my own work for over 8 years. But software, the industry I am in, needs constant updates if you want to continue making livable income. I've coasted for near on a year and it's getting to the stage I need to do something to make more money.
Even if the donation doesn't happen the beta will still be released, it's just hard to know when. It's just a way to put the control in other peoples hands rather than mine, whilst simultaneously relieving pressure I get from the SC supporters and my family.
